Surroundings - Aranjuez
Aranjuez es un municipio de la zona sur de Madrid bañado por las aguas de los ríos Tajo y Jarama. Forma parte del selecto club de Reales Sitios del Patrimonio Nacional español. Se caracteriza por ser un lugar donde existen muchos puntos de interés turístico, ya que era el sitio de descanso de los Reyes en las primaveras del siglo XVII.
Durante la Edad Media se construyó una casona para ser usada como hospital, para convalecencia de los caballeros heridos en la guerra con los musulmanes durante la Reconquista. Más tarde, los Reyes Católicos convirtieron este hospital en palacio y todo el término, en Real Sitio. Desde entonces y hasta el siglo XIX, fue residencia primaveral de los Reyes de España. Felipe II por su parte construyó el Palacio Real de Aranjuez sobre el emplazamiento del antiguo palacio.
Sus maravillosos y plácidos jardines, dignos de un rey, son de una belleza espléndida y sus monumentos como el Palacio Real, Casa del Labrador, fuentes, etc. son el estandarte de un municipio tranquilo, que vuelve a la vida en verano por el gran número de visitantes que acuden para disfrutar de sus maravillas, su restauración y la hospitalidad de sus gentes.

TOURIST TRAIN
Leaves the campsite between 10:00 and 10:30 every day. Clients of Camping Internacional Aranjuez can take it free to the Palacio Real.
